Tamarindo Beach Costa Rica Covid19 Update

Hey there,

It’s Joe from Witch’s Rock Surf Camp, how’s it going? Have you been able to surf at all lately? I really hope things are going well for you during all of these crazy times. I made this video to give you some updates on what’s been happening down here in Costa Rica and at the camp.

Please watch this video.

And in case you don’t have 5 minutes and 36 seconds to watch the video, here’s some important takeaways:

#1 Costa Rica Has Started Opening Up The Beaches.
Tamarindo Beach is now open Monday – Friday from 5am to 8am, but hopefully this will increase over the next couple of weeks. Everyone here has been really grateful to get back to surfing, and the vibe in the water has been great.

#2 Costa Rica’s Borders Are Set To Reopen Starting June 15, 2020.
We are so grateful that so many of you postponed your vacations instead of cancelling them. This has helped us beyond words. We really look forward to having you back at the surf camp soon, and we are fixated on providing you with the best surf experience imaginable.

#3 Donate To The Surf Camp Employees That No Longer Have A Job.
The hospitality industry has been destroyed by COVID-19. Witch’s Rock Surf Camp is no different. We sadly had to let go of 99 (out of 150) surf camp employees. It’s really been difficult but it’s been the only way to keep the entire business afloat. We’re campaigning to raise money to provide ongoing food donations for those 99 former-employees, as well as others in the community that need the most assistance. You can purchase $100 food baskets or make a cash donation of any amount by calling us at 1-888-318-7873.

#5 Enter To Win A Free Robert August Surfboard If You Book Before June 30.
It’s our “May Robert August Surfboard Giveaway” again. Book your next trip to Witch’s Rock Surf Camp before June 30, 2020 and be automatically entered to win a brand new Robert August surfboard, hand shaped by the legend himself.

Since 2011, Robert has been hand-shaping Robert August surfboards at Witch’s Rock Surf Camp. These surfboards are the ONLY surfboards actually hand-shaped by Robert August himself. They’ve become collector’s items as more and more people value surfing heritage and culture. Interested in ordering a surfboard? Click here.

You don’t paddle out at Ollie’s Point because it’s convenient. You go because when it’s on, it feels like Costa Rica handed you a fast, clean runway and said, “Go.” The catch is that Ollie’s is not a “just show up” wave. It’s a mission – tides, swell direction, wind, boat timing, and a lineup […] The post Ollie’s Point Guided Surf Tour: What to Expect appeared first on Witch's Rock Surf Camp.

The moment that changes everything usually isn’t the first pop-up. It’s the second one – when your kid paddles back out smiling, you’re not checking the clock, and nobody’s hungry, sunburned, or overwhelmed. That’s the real promise behind a family surf trip in Costa Rica: shared wins, low stress, and enough structure that everyone actually […] The post Family Surf Camp in Costa Rica Done Right appeared first on Witch's Rock Surf Camp.

You don’t fly to Costa Rica for “pretty good” waves. If you’re already comfortable in solid surf, the real win is efficiency: paddling out at the right break, at the right tide, with the right board under your feet – and not wasting a single prime window because a road washed out, the wind switched, […] The post Advanced Surf Tours in Costa Rica That Deliver appeared first on Witch's Rock Surf Camp.

You know the feeling – you’re paddling out confidently, catching plenty of waves, and you can even make sections… but your surfing still looks nothing like it feels. In your head, you’re carving. On the wave, you’re kind of surviving. That’s the intermediate plateau, and it’s exactly why intermediate surf coaching with video analysis is […] The post Video Surf Coaching for Intermediates That Works appeared first on Witch's Rock Surf Camp.
