Wave Rider in the Making: How Mary Achieved Her Surfing Dream

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming New York actress Mary Davis to our very own Witch’s Rock Surf Camp. What happened during her stay with us has been happening every week for the past 20+ years, but even still, every week when it happens we get really pumped and this time we just had to share!

Mary found us through a Google search, and after reading our rave reviews, she took the plunge and joined us for a week of surf, sun, and Pura Vida vibes. The amazing part? She had only surfed a couple of times in her life. But with just one week at Witch’s Rock Surf Camp, Mary transformed into a wave-riding sensation!

Mary wanted to find a place where she could spend her entire week focusing solely on learning to ride waves. Basically she wanted to figure this whole surfing thing out. And from the looks of it, that’s what she did. With her coach Cristopher by her side, Mary quickly advanced from being a newbie beginner to confidently catching waves like a seasoned surfer.

This video is a quick glimpse into Mary’s mindset, showing us that with the right attitude and determination anyone can learn how to surf.
