Board Cage Update | NEW Shop, NEW Firewires

Joe Walsh • 20 de febrero de 2020

Our board cage just got a serious face lift. Prior to our most recent shipment, we had about 250 boards in our board cage. Since the opening of our new surf shop across from El Vaquero, we’ve received a fresh shipment of 50 new boards, 19 of which are brand new, epoxy Firewires. Haven’t heard of Firewire you say? They are basically the surfboard company of the future. Since their inception, Firewire has been doing things differently by developing their own unique materials and construction techniques. Whether it’s the Linear Flex Technology, or thier latest developments like their ultra-light Helium construction, Firewire remains dedicated to pushing the boundaries of surfboard design. Some of their team riders include Kelly Slater, Rob Machado, Robert “Wingnut” Weaver, Timmy Reyes, Sierra Kerr,  and more.

Here is a breakdown of some of the new Firewires you’ll find in our board cage that are available to all surf program guests.

You don’t paddle out at Ollie’s Point because it’s convenient. You go because when it’s on, it feels like Costa Rica handed you a fast, clean runway and said, “Go.” The catch is that Ollie’s is not a “just show up” wave. It’s a mission – tides, swell direction, wind, boat timing, and a lineup […] The post Ollie’s Point Guided Surf Tour: What to Expect appeared first on Witch's Rock Surf Camp.

You don’t fly to Costa Rica for “pretty good” waves. You know the feeling – you’re paddling out confidently, catching plenty of waves, and you can even make sections… but your surfing still looks nothing like it feels. In your head, you’re carving. On the wave, you’re kind of surviving. That’s the intermediate plateau, and it’s exactly why intermediate surf coaching with video analysis is […] The post Video Surf Coaching for Intermediates That Works appeared first on Witch's Rock Surf Camp.
